FnB Network: a network for everyone who works in food and beverage

From multinationals to street vendors, the food and beverage industry has no neutral place to find each other, trust each other, or keep up with the standards that govern it. FnB Network is being built to be that place — live on the web, with the Android and iOS apps on their way to the stores.

Why it exists

Food and beverage is one of the largest industries in the country and one of the least connected. A manufacturer looking for an equipment maker, a caterer looking for a cold-chain partner, a plant looking for a quality engineer — each finds the other through a phone book of contacts, a trade fair once a year, or a general-purpose network that knows nothing about the industry. Standards change quietly, and the news that matters is scattered across dozens of sources.

FnB Network is a vendor-neutral network for the whole value chain: manufacturers, equipment makers, ingredients, packaging, cold chain, foodservice, retail and street vendors. It is not an ordering or delivery app.

Authority before network effect

A new network has no network effect on day one — but it can be useful on day one. So FnB Network starts with the reference layer the industry needs anyway:

  • Industry news gathered automatically from 29 sources.
  • A standards library that keeps version history, so a change is visible rather than silent.
  • Events, with QR tickets checked in at the door.
  • A directory, starting with the regulators and standards bodies.

The network itself

  • A feed with reactions, threaded comments, reposts, hashtags, mentions and images.
  • Profiles, connections, and company pages you can post as.
  • Live messaging and notifications.
  • Verification you can see, beginning with the phone number and working up through location, documents and audit.
  • Report, block, and account deletion that works.

The principle behind the pricing is "free commons, paid value": the commons — the news, the standards, the conversation — is never behind a paywall. Premium is ₹99 a month for a person and ₹999 a month for a company page.

Where it stands — September 2026

  • Live on the web at fnb.network, with payments live since 6 September.
  • Android is in internal testing, with its store listing prepared; iOS is next, and needs its first build.
  • Push notifications proven on a real Android phone.
  • The reference layer is full; the people and companies are what comes next — which is the honest description of any network in its first season.

What has been hard

For a while the website quietly showed sample companies whenever the API had nothing to return — invented names, with invented badges, on a product whose entire promise is verification. It was caught and removed, and it left a rule behind: an empty page beats an invented one, every time.

Payments taught the same lesson from another direction. Hundreds of passing tests ran against the payment gateway's test mode, and test mode hid four real defects — among them a subscription that granted premium before anything was paid. The first real ₹99 charge found them within the hour. And a real phone found six of the eight defects that code review had missed. There is no substitute for the real thing.
